libreCMC v1.5.0[a]

The libreCMC project is proud to announce the availability of libreCMC v1.5.0 and the start of the v1.5.x series.

Changes

  • v1.5.x series is based upon upstream's 19.07 branch.
  • Support is expected to last until January 2023.
  • Uses the 4.14.x kernel. (4.14.160 as of v1.5.0)
  • ath79 replaces ar71xx targets.
  • The tiny sub-target replaces the old legacy images.
  • First release built on Power9 hardware.

Known Issues:

  • WNDR3800 : On reset or first boot after installing v1.5.0, erasing flash might take longer than expected and may need a reboot once the process is complete.

  • Luci relies on JS too much and a replacement web-ui is needed.

  • Links on router pages need to be updated to reflect the changes.

  • Missing hardware specific documentation.

Important Notes : Failure to do this could result in a brick!

When upgrading to v1.5.0, you will not be able to preserve any settings! Many targets had interface name changes that make v1.4.x configuration files incompatible with v1.5.x. If you generated an archive with your current settings, DO NOT upload them after upgrading to v1.5.0 and only use it for reference.

When upgrading from the web-ui (luci), use the appropriate*-sysupgrade.bin image for your target and make sure that the "Keep Settings" checkbox is unchecked.

If upgrading with sysupgrade, make sure to use the -n flag.
